Facilities we offer

Bronchoscopy
Bronchoscopy is an endoscopic procedure of visualizing the inside of the airways (Lung pipes) for diagnostic ( like Lung cancer , Atypical pneumonia, Undetected tuberculosis , Fungal infections ) and therapeutic purposes ( like removal of foreign body, removal of mucus plugs difficult intubation etc ). A Bronchoscope is inserted into the airways, usually through the mouth or nose , or occasionally through a tracheostomy.

Digital X-ray
X-ray chest (radiography) is the most commonly used investigation in Pulmonology. To create a radiograph, a part of the body is exposed to a very small quantity of X-rays. The X-rays pass through the tissues, striking a film or detector to create an image. Inhouse X-ray imaging service at fefsa hospital provides very quick results and saves abundant time.

Lung Sonography
A lung Sonography is a noninvasive diagnostic examination that reveals information about organs and structures within the chest, such as the lungs, mediastinum and pleural space (space between the lungs and the thoracic wall . It also provide assistance to perform many procedures like Fluid drainage , Pus removal And Lung Biopsy under real time guidance .

Thoracoscopy
Thoracoscopy is an endoscopy procedure where internal examination of the pleural cavity is performed under general anesthesia or under sedation with local anesthetic with video assistance . In this procedures we usually take biopsy to detect cancer , metastatic disease , tuberculosis etc. . and also drainage of pleural fluid and resection of pleural cavity adhesions

Sleep Study
A sleep study is a non-invasive, overnight exam that allows doctors to monitor you while you sleep to see what’s happening in your brain and body. For this test, you will go to a sleep lab that is set up for overnight stays—usually in a hospital or sleep center. While you sleep, an EEG monitors your sleep stages and the cycles of REM and nonREM or NREM sleep you go through during the night, to identify possible disruptions in the pattern of your sleep. A sleep study will also measure oxygen levels in your blood (through a sensor—there are no needles involved), heart and breathing rates, snoring, and body movements. The data from your sleep study will usually be taken by a technologist, and later evaluated by your doctor.

Pulmonary Rehabiltation
Pulmonary rehabilitation represents an ideal opportunity to facilitate chronic disease self-management (CDSM) by people with COPD.
Specifically, CDSM aims to promote a person’s ability to manage their condition collaboratively with healthcare providers to improve their well-being.

Allergy Test
Skin prick testing is an essential test procedure to confirm sensitization in IgE-mediated allergic disease in subjects with rhinoconjunctivitis, asthma, urticaria, anapylaxis, atopic eczema and food and drug allergy.
Allergy skin tests are used to find out which substances cause a person to have an allergic reaction. These substances are called allergens.

Airway Oscillometry Test
Impulse oscillometry (IOS) is a variant of forced oscillation technique which permits passive measurement of lung mechanics. In this method, sound waves are superimposed on normal tidal breathing, and the disturbances in flow and pressure caused by the external waves are used to calculate parameters describing the resistance to airflow and reactive parameters that mostly relate to efficient storage and return of energy by the lung. It requires minimal patient cooperation and can be done easily in subjects who are unable to perform spirometry. Importantly, IOS can differentiate small airway obstruction from large airway obstruction and is more sensitive than spirometry for peripheral airway disease.

Pulmonary Function Testing (PFTS)
PFTS are like ECG of the lungs. It gives an objective evidence of lung function due to disease process involving tracheobronchial tree, Pulmonary vasculature and chest bellows.
It also helps in preoperative evaluation and helps to identify or exclude respiratory cause of breathlessness.
It helps in the assessment of the disease over the time like COPD and ILDs. It helps to monitor effectiveness of the therapy undertaken in BRONCHIAL ASTHMA.
It also helps to detect airway hyperresponsiveness and help in evaluation of disability.
